A brown and yellow striped beetle is eting the newshoots of my hard cane orchids. How can i control them?

Answer: Dear Beverley,

There is a beetle that does damage to orchids called the dendrobium beetle. The adult beetle is about 12mm long and is orange with black spots. They feed on the buds, flowers and leaves.

There is no product registered for the control of this beetle. Look for the beetles in the evening and the early morning and remove them by hand.
