What is recommended for the control of curl grubs in lawns and what is safe to use on garden beds and pots? (Digging over my vegie plot unearthed about 8-12 grubs/m2!!)

Answer: Dear Bob,

Curl grubs are the larvae form of scarab beetles, mainly the African Black Beetle. The peak egg laying period for African Black Beetle is mid spring to mid summer. Applying Yates Baythroid from late winter to late spring will help reduce the number of adult African Black Beetles and that lay eggs that would develop into curl grubs.

Help keep your lawn strong and healthy by giving it a weekly deep watering, mowing at a higher level and feeding it regularly with Yates Dynamic Lifter Organic Lawn Food.
